"The MPOC has been active in the Mankato area since its founding in 1993. The club meets regularly for business and monthly programs, plans and leads various outings, and works on special proejcts such as the Minnesota River Valley Spring Clean-Up and the Blue Earth County River Mapping Project. The MPOC sponsors a variety of paddling and other outdoor activities, but the heart of it all, the first love of most members, is whitewater canoeing."

by Brand Frentz A New Year and a new president. At the January Annual Meeting of the MPOC Mark Bosacker was elected to lead the club in 2002. Mark was president in 1996 too, and has held some leadership position almost every year since the club was formed in 1993.

His campaign slogan was something like "Let's get out and have fun" -- how could he lose? He has been setting a good example too, having fun, that is.

What is more, Mark actually wanted to be president, which is not that common in volunteer groups.
