"Minnesota Rivers, a Primer" is published by the Water Resources Center at the University of Minnesota. It gives an enormous amount of scientific information about the rivers of Minnesota (as well as a general introduction to the study of rivers) in graphs, tables, maps, and plain text. It isn’t about paddling, but the material in it can enrich anybody’s river trip. The book is 70 pages on 8.5 x 11 paper and costs five dollars. It is worth it.
