New Canoe Map for Minnehaha Creek (res12)
By Dale Eggert
The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District has produced a new four color Canoe Route Map. The new map shows all major access points for the 21 miles between Grayís Bay Dam and Minnehaha Falls. Maps are available from the Watershed District Office in Spring Lake Park or by calling 612/471-0590. The map also lists optimal flow levels for good canoeing and a telephone number to obtain flow rates. There is a interesting discussion on the history of the creek.
The map was developed by a committee of Park and recreation staff from cities which the creek flows through, district staff and the MCA. Check it out!
